ITINERARY:Day 01 AIRPORT / SILLUSTANI / PUNO
Arrival at Juliaca airport and transfer. Along the way we take a detour at km 25 to visit the SILLUSTANI archaeological center (14 km beyond detour point). Funerary monuments of the Colla culture carved in volcanic rock. Visit to the site museum. Lake Umayo. After a two hour visit we continue onward to the city of Puno. Lodging.
Day 02 PUNO / UROS / TAQUILE (OVERNIGHT IN TAQUILE FAMILY HOMES)
Continental breakfast.
7a.m. Transfer from the hotel to the lake port where we will board motor boats. After approximately 30 minutes navigation on Lake Titicaca we arrive at the Floating Islands of the Uros, built mainly of Totora reeds. The Uros are one of the oldest cultures in the Americas. Their main activities are fishing, hunting, taxidermy and handicrafts. After a visit of about 40 minutes we continue our excursion and after two hours of further travel we arrive at Taquile Island. This island is famous for its beautiful scenery and interesting culture. Its inhabitants work on farming, fishing and handicrafts. Island dwellers continue to live according to their ancient traditions and Inca laws, such as: cultural manifestations, religious and folkloric rituals like marriage (sirvinacuy), offerings to the Earth Mother (Pachamama), guardian deities (Apus) of good and evil, their archaeological heritage belonging to the Tiahuanaco and Inca cultures.
12:00a.m. Traditional lunch of your choice. Settling in for overnight stay in homes of local families.
Afternoon visit to the handicraft center where you will see the skill and flair that each of the local people employs in their work. Observation and appreciation of the ways of life, customs, rites of the people of the island. Lodging: in Taquile there are no hotels, therefore services are basic. Food is prepared using ingredients of the area (quinua, corn, oca, potatoes, fish, etc).
Day 03 RETURN FROM TAQUILE ISLAND TO CITY OF PUNO
Traditional breakfast.
1430p.m. Return to Puno.
17:00 p.m. Arrival to city of Puno. Lodging in hotel.

Continental breakfast.
Departure transfer hotel / train or bus station.
